Following on from my post yesterday – how does one prepare for the festive season in a recesssion and in-between jobs?
Once you have acknowledged that your “cheese has been moved” or that your source of income has dried up, it is time to look for new source(s) of income. How you accomplish this requires two major things:
1. Wisdom
The Bible says in Proverbs 24:3 that “Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established; By knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.“
The fact that you have just left a particular line of job or career does not mean you should go back in there again. You need to ask yourself if that is what you want to continue doing. If not, what else can you do? What wll bring you an income and still fulfill you? Pray, ask God for guidance and i’m sure He will lead you in the right path.
2. Discipline
There is the natural tendency to take things easy when one is in-between jobs but you need to discipline and remind yourself that you are searching for new a source of income or two.
The fact that you are in-between jobs or careers does not mean you should be waking up at noon. Daytime TV in not your job, leave it alone!!! Ask yourself if you were in a job, what will you be doing now? Don’t get hooked on soap operas, Oprah, talk shows or game shows. Carry out serious job searches.
You need just do what you naturally can so as to allow God to add His Super to it – you will get something SUPERNATURAL. Don’t leave God out of your efforts.
I have not forgottoen that you need may have an immediate need for cash for Christmas. Watch out for that in my next post.
